James Kirk despised feeling helpless. And nothing had the effect of making him feel that way more than waiting outside Sickbay while a member of his crew lay inside, ill or injured. He commanded great power as the captain of a starship but in matters such as these, he was as helpless as a newborn. It did not please him. He looked up as McCoy came through the door, his face grim and expressionless. Kirk stood and walked quickly over to him. McCoy's face darkened. "Until he wakes up, we're both just going to have to wait."
